Wilma Joyce "Lani" Fujii-Ho

Wilma Joyce "Lani" Fujii-Ho Our beloved Wilma Joyce "Lani" Fujii-Ho, 61, passed away at her home in Honolulu on Sunday, March 27, 2011. Lani was the youngest of three children born to parents, Ronald and Rose Fujii. Amazingly throughout her life, she was always able to maintain a cheerful disposition and she took great pleasure whenever she was able to help others. The cheerleader within (from her cheerleading days at Kalani High School) helped bring joy and comfort to the many lives she touched. Her radiant smile and hearty laugh were infectious. Her indomitable spirit served her well through all of life's challenges. She loved nature and had a special bond with animals. Even Rosie, our neighbor's dog in Kula, knew something was amiss on my last visit when I returned there without Lani. At an early age, Lani began her quest to explore the world. She earned a masters degree in cultural anthropology and spent a considerable part of her adulthood studying different cultures while living and working abroad in Australia, Bali, India, Japan, Nepal, and Taiwan. Her interest in travel led to a career as a travel escort, consultant, and subsequently owner of OM On The Range which specializes in cruise travel. She traveled extensively to all parts of the globe and escorted numerous groups from Hawaii on European tours. She especially loved the time she spent on her five trips to Africa. She was the consummate cruiser sailing on over 60 cruises over the years. She was also a certified acupuncturist specializing in animals and a licensed massage therapist. She is survived by husband, Tim Ho; sister, Ronnie Mae Farinas; brother, Dalton Fujii (May Yamashita); nephews, Mark Farinas, Sy Farinas (Yumi Koyama), Clint Fujii; niece, Laureen Lee (Dale Lee); grand-nephews, Kainoa Farinas, Ren Farinas, Kysen Lee; and grand-niece Kerrin Lee. Private family services were held both in Honolulu at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific and at her home in Kula, Maui where her ashes were scattered. Always In Our Hearts
